Privacy Policy
Effective August 21, 2026. This policy explains what information this website may collect, why it is used, and the choices available to visitors.
Who we are
This website is operated by Shine On Group Publishing Inc., a Canadian creator-led publishing and intellectual-property company based in Ontario. The site presents original screenplays, novels, audio stories, music, visual media and community initiatives.
Information you choose to provide
We may collect information that you voluntarily submit through a comment, contact form, community form or future membership feature. Depending on the feature, this may include your name, email address, website, message, interests or other information you choose to include.
If a mailing list or membership form is introduced, the form will identify what information is requested and why. Marketing or community updates will be sent only where the visitor has chosen to receive them, and an unsubscribe option will be provided.
Comments and public contributions
When visitors leave comments, WordPress may collect the information shown in the comment form together with the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string for moderation, security and spam detection. Approved comments and the name supplied with them may be visible publicly. Visitors should not include private or sensitive information in a public comment.
An anonymized value created from an email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether the commenter uses that service. If enabled, the commenter’s Gravatar image may appear beside an approved comment.
Technical information
Our hosting platform, WordPress, security tools and performance tools may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, date and time, referring page, diagnostic information and security events. This information is used to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, diagnose problems and improve reliability.
How information is used
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- To display, moderate and respond to comments.
- To respond to messages and stakeholder enquiries.
- To provide requested community or membership communications.
- To understand general site performance and prevent spam or misuse.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect legitimate rights.
We do not sell visitors’ personal information.
Cookies
WordPress and related services may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functions, security, preferences and comment convenience. A visitor who leaves a comment may choose to save their name, email address and website in cookies so they do not need to re-enter them later. Browser settings can be used to restrict or delete cookies, although some site functions may then operate differently.
Audio, video and embedded content
Most audio on this site is hosted directly. Some pages may also contain embedded video, social-media content or other material delivered by third-party services. Embedded content can behave as if the visitor went directly to that third-party website and may allow that provider to collect data, use cookies or measure interaction under its own privacy terms.
Service providers and processing locations
We use service providers—including website hosting, content-management, spam-prevention, security, performance and communication services—to operate this site. These providers may process information in Canada or other countries, where it may be subject to local law. We limit provider access to what is reasonably needed for the service they perform.
Retention
Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for website security, for record keeping or as required by law. Comments and associated metadata may be retained to preserve discussion context and support moderation. A verified deletion request may be subject to information that must be retained for legal, administrative or security purposes.
Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so visitors should avoid submitting information that is not necessary for their interaction with the site.
Your choices and privacy requests
Visitors may ask whether we hold personal information about them and may request access, correction or deletion where applicable. They may also withdraw consent for optional communications. Requests can be made through the Creator & Contact page. We may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and scope of a request before acting on it.
Young visitors
The stories may be enjoyed by families and younger audiences, but community and contact features are not intended to solicit sensitive personal information from children. Visitors who are under the age of majority should use interactive features with the involvement or permission of a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the website adds new services, forms, analytics, distribution partners or community features. The effective date at the top of the page will be changed when material revisions are made.
Contact
Questions, requests or concerns about this policy can be submitted through the Creator & Contact page. Please identify the request as a privacy matter so it can be handled appropriately.
This policy describes the website’s current intended practices and should be reviewed whenever new plugins, analytics, subscription systems or embedded services are activated.
